William McLean was a four-year letterwinner in tennis from 1983 through 1986. He was named the Big Red’s MVP in each of his four seasons with team. Bill was named All-NCAC in singles and doubles in both 1983 and 1984. McLean won the Conference Singles Title in 1985 and 1986. Bill was honored in being named to the NCAC 10th Year Anniversary Team. McLean participated in the NCAA tennis championships in singles in 1985 and doubles in 1986. In 1986, he was ranked 17th in singles and 18th in doubles in NCAA Division III and was a 1986 All-American.  At Denison, Bill was a member of the Mortar Board, a History Department Fellow, co-President of Crossed Keys and graduated with honors in history. He was a member of the ATO Fraternity, serving three years as the fraternity’s public affairs office and vice president in 1984.
