Dr. Bruce Corrie was a four-year letter winner in lacrosse and a one-year letterman in soccer. A 1957 graduate of Denison University, Corrie went on to earn his masters and his doctorate from Indiana University.

Bruce began his career in college athletics as an assistant lacrosse coach at Bowdoin, Oberlin and Denison. He later served as the head coach at Ball State and at Duke University. He moved into an administrative role in 1978 when he became the athletic director at Bucknell University. He went on to serve as A.D. at Northwestern University (1987-93) and Robert Morris University (1994-2000). He was the chairperson of the Big Ten athletic directors in 1992-93 and received the All-American Football Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.  In 2011 he was inducted into the Robert Morris Athletic Hall of Fame.
