“Embracing Differences"
The Denison's Inclusion Athletic Advisory Group works to build a welcoming and inclusive community within Athletics, promoting education and dialogue that contribute to a positive campus environment.
Mission Statement:
The mission of DIG is to work with Denison's administration, faculty athletic representatives, and student-athletes to build a positive athletic environment for all participants. The highest priority will be to establish a climate of cohesion built on the foundation of mutual respect that inspires the highest levels of athletic achievement and personal fulfillment for all athletes and coaches.
Member Benefits:
Engage with the student-athlete population at Denison in a fulfilling way. Learn about the perspectives of other athletes and their backgrounds, and develop critical thinking skills about how we can approach various differences to create an athletics space that is equally representative of every voice through campus events and outreach opportunities.
Goals:
? Continue developing the community of Big Red athletics to make it a home for all, where uplifting support and respect are cornerstones of the athletic experience.
? Engage thoughtfully in conversations about difference, and provide solutions that create an environment where all people are set up for success in their athletic and social pursuits.
? Empower student-athletes to use their voices to promote positive change in relevant departmental, campus, and community issues through education and events revolving around said issues.
