Rex Elliott was a four-year letter winner and All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer in football from 1980-83.  He is this year’s recipient of the Varsity D Athletic Citation.

Elliott was a starter at wide receiver for some of Keith Piper's best teams at Denison in the early 1980s.  In 1982, he set the Denison single-season record for receptions with 33.  From 1982-83, Elliott led the Big Red with 625 yards receiving.  He was a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection in both seasons and was named the team’s most outstanding offensive lineman in 1983.

Elliott’s loyalty and devotion to Denison have continued since his graduation.  He spent 10 years as the president of the Varsity D Association, spearheading a campaign which has helped the department’s coaching staff increase in size by nearly 40 percent.

After Denison, he attended law school at Syracuse University where he graduated summa cum laude.  After Syracuse, he worked on Wall Street at the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell.  In 1995, he established Cooper & Elliott in Columbus, Ohio where he has practiced for the last 20 years.
