Edson Rupp graduated with the Class of 1913.  Rupp won All-Ohio football honors in 1910, 1911 and 1912, at the time when Denison and Ohio State were both members of the Ohio Conference.

Rupp also was a basketball standout for three seasons.  During his senior season, he captained the basketball team to an Ohio Conference Championship and earned first-team all-conference honors.

After teaching and coaching at Troy and Springfield, he returned to Denison and served on the faculty for 35 years, retiring in 1955 as Associate Professor of Mathematics.

Rupp served as mayor of Granville in the late 1950s and also coached football and golf during his teaching years at Denison.  Edson served a three-year stint as the Big Red head football coach from 1928 to 1930.  In 1946, Rupp took over the Denison golf team.  During his seven-year tenure as head golf coach, he led the Big Red to three Ohio Conference titles.
