Elizabeth Cooper Krushena was a three-year letter winner in swimming in 1987, ’88 and ’89. Through those years, she held Denison records in 10 different events and she received the team’s Outstanding Performer Award as a senior. Krushena was a three-year All-NCAC honoree 1987-89, and was the 1987 NCAC champion in the 200-yard individual medley, setting a conference record. She was also a 19-time All-American. At the 1987 NCAA Division III Championships, Krushena placed second in the 200 IM, third in the 200 breaststroke and fourth in the 100 breaststroke. At the 1988 NCAA’s, she was second in the 200 breast and fifth in the 100 breast, and was a national champion in the 200 IM, setting a meet record.
