Colleen Wirtz was a four-year letter winner and three-time All-American in soccer from 2002 to 2005. As of 2017, Wirtz remains the only three-time All-American in the program’s history.

In 2005, she was the recipient of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection. In 2006, Wirtz was one of seven winners of the Denison President’s Medal, the highest honor Denison bestows upon its students.

Wirtz appeared in 89 matches, scoring 24 goals while adding 21 assists. She was a member of two NCAA Tournament teams, and in 2005, the Big Red advanced to the national quarterfinals. She was a four-time All-NCAC and All-Region performer who was named to the NCAC’s 30th Anniversary All-Decade team in 2014.

After graduating from Denison, Wirtz earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Ohio University in 2011. In 2010, she was named Medical Student of the Year at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio. She completed her anesthesiology residency at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in 2015.
