He finished his collegiate athletic career having garnered nine varsity Ds while participating in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was also a member of the Franklin honorary society at Denison and the DU chapter of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

After graduation, Roudebush went on to attend Harvard University’s law school. While in Boston, he coached baseball teams at Boston University and local high school. Following his graduation from Harvard in 1909, he played minor league baseball, leading his league with a .335 batting average in his last two seasons. An active Democrat, Roudebush was appointed Assistant to the United States District Attorney serving in that capacity from 1918 to 1922. He continued to practice law until he was elected mayor of Norwood, Ohio in 1934. He held that office until 1937 when he served as Common Pleas judge in Hamilton County. In 1939 he was reelected as Norwood’s mayor and remained at city hall through 1942.
