Tony Thompson was an indoor and outdoor track standout during his career at DU.  An All-American in 1973 and 1974, Tony held numerous University records, including the long jump, triple jump, 440-yard relay, 880-yard relay, spring medley relay and mile relay events.  His relay records still stand, while his indoor long jump record stood from 1972 until 1987, while his former triple jump mark ranks third all-time in program history.

As a student at Denison, Tony served as president of the Black Student Union and was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa.  He also preformed in the Licking County Symphonic Orchestra and Denison Concert Band, as well as participating in the student choir and theatrical troupe.

A biology major at DU, Thompson was commissioned as a second lieutenant reserve officer in the Air Force after graduation.  Tony later worked as a microbiologist for Rush Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center in Chicago, Ill.
