In 1998, Nigh placed 13th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships and finished third overall at the NCAC Championships while helping the Big Red to a conference title.

In track & field, Nigh won three conference championships. The first came in the 1,500 meters at the 1997 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. As a junior and senior, he won back-to-back titles in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Nigh is one of a select number of athletes in conference history to be named to two different NCAC 20th Anniversary All-Decade teams. When taking into account cross country and indoor and outdoor track, Nigh totaled 17 All-NCAC performances.

He graduated magna cum laude from Denison in 1999, and he is currently enrolled in graduate school at the University of Wyoming. After Denison, Nigh was the program manager for the United States Agency for International Development in Iraq. In that role, he assisted thousands of Iraqi victims of terrorism. He also started a company in Iraq that was successful in carrying out over 40 economic, agricultural, social, governance, and civil society programs to assist the Iraqi people.
