Brian Gearinger was a mainstay on the Denison offensive line from 1982 through 1985, lettering in football four times and garnering All-NCAC recognition following his junior and senior seasons. He was also honored as Denison’s Most Valuable Rookie in 1982 and Most Valuable Lineman in 1985. Gearinger was named a Division III All-American after his senior campaign, and he won the highly regarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship based on academic and athletic achievement. His senior team captured Denison’s first-ever North Coast Athleitc Conference football championship and produced the university’s first undefeated regular season record in 35 years. Gearinger was also named to the prestigious NCAC 10th Anniversary Team.

At Denison, he graduated magna cum laude, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honorary and a President’s Medalist. He then went on to earn his law degree from the University of Michigan. He also spent time in Australia playing for and coaching the Peninsula Sweathogs, an American rules football team in Melbourne.
