Kristen Sheffield was a four-year letter winner and All-American in basketball and a three-year letter winner in volleyball from 2003 to 2007.

Honored as the 2007 NCAC Player of the Year in women’s basketball, she scored 1,349 points in her career. She ranks second at Denison in career rebounds (921) and blocked shots (336), and she was the conference’s career leader in blocks until 2016. During Sheffield’s career, the Big Red women’s basketball team went 85-30 (.739) and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament three times, thanks to three NCAC Tournament Championships. Sheffield is a four-time All-NCAC selection and a three-time NCAC Tournament MVP. In addition to being named NCAC Player of the Year as a senior, she was voted the NCAC’s Newcomer of the Year in 2004. In 2014, she was named to the NCAC’s 30th Anniversary All-Decade Team.

On the volleyball court, Sheffield was a two-time first-team All-NCAC selection. She holds the Denison’s single-season record for kills, and in just three seasons, she ranks sixth in career kills with 1,031.

Sheffield graduated summa cum laude from Denison in 2007. She earned her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is currently a portfolio specialist at Diamond Hill Capital Management in Columbus.
