Denison University

Bernie Wentis was a Big Red football and baseball standout whose careers were interrupted by World War II; he won two football letters before the war and two more after.  During his first two years at Denison, Wentis played for Hall of Fame coach Tom Rogers.

After the war, he returned to Denison to play for Hall of Fame coach Woody Hayes.  Wentis was a member of the 1947 Denison football squad that won the Ohio Athletic Conference championship.
