Read Powel Lanctot ’08 was a four-year letter winner in field hockey and a three-year letter winner in lacrosse. In field hockey, she was named first-team All-NCAC for three consecutive seasons and became Denison’s first NCAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2006 after anchoring a Big Red defense that posted a 1.91 goals-against average. Read earned a spot on the NCAC’s 30th Anniversary All-Decade Team as a midfielder and was a three-time first-team NFCA All-Region honoree (2005, 2006, 2007) and four-time All-NCAC selection: first team in 2005, 2006, 2007; and second team in 2004. She is ranked fourth on Denison’s all-time list for career assists with 22. In lacrosse, Read earned first-team All-NCAC honors as a midfielder in 2007.
