Laura Hartpence was a four-year letter winner from 2001-04 and an All-American in track and field in 2003.  She also holds the rare distinction of being a member of two North Coast Athletic Conference Anniversary All-Decade teams, designating her has one of the top performers in conference history over a 20-year span.

A four-time qualifier for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship, she went on to post her best national finish (third) in the discus in 2003.  That year she was also named the NCAC's Field Athlete of the Year.  Hartpence is an eight-time conference champion, winning four titles in the shot put and four in the discus.  She set Denison and conference records in the outdoor shot put and discus and is the current school record-holder in both events.

After Denison, she earned a Master's in Parks and Resource Management from Slippery Rock University.  She is currently a Career Advisor at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

Laura and her husband, John, live in Hamilton with their two daughters, Lillian and Emma.
