Meg Filoon was a four-year letter winner in both field hockey and lacrosse at Denison. She was captain of both teams her senior year and was an All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection in both sports following her junior and senior seasons. She was also recognized her senior year in field hockey as a NCAA Division III All-American. Filoon’s prowess as a lacrosse player brought even more prestigious honors. She was selected as an All-Region player her junior and senior years and was chosen as an All-American in lacrosse in each of her last two seasons. In addition,she was selected as a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference’s 10th anniversary “All-Decade” Team. Filoon was invited to play in the 1985 North-South Lacrosse Game in Baltimore, Md., which featured top seniors in the country from all collegiate divisions.

At Denison, Filoon was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, served as a resident advisor her junior year, received the 1983 Women’s Achievement Award and was a Laura Carter Fellow. She remained active in athletics following her college career as a high school director of athletics and as a women’s lacrosse official.  Filoon was a member of the national tournament team in lacrosse for nine years and in field hockey for two years.  She was also a member of the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse Team in 1988 and 1989.
