Shaw Emmons earned four letters for Big Red soccer teams, four letters for Big Red tennis teams and two letters in basketball.

In 1959, Emmons won the NCAA College Division No. 1 singles championship in tennis.

He captured the 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1959 Ohio Conference singles and doubles tennis championships without losing a match.

Shaw also helped DU set the program record for the fewest losses in a season (2) as a sophomore.  The Big Red went on to match that record during his senior season.
