Bob Vogt was an outstanding athlete who lettered in football, basketball and baseball. As a senior, Vogt was the recipient of the Mike Gregory Award, given to the Denison football team's most valuable player.  That season, Vogt was among the national leaders in total points scored.  His 111 points scored in 1953 remains a school record. Vogt also held numerous Denison punting records for over a quarter of a centry.

Vogt was inducted in the Hall Of Fame in 1982 and was presented by head coach Keith Piper to former head coach and guest speaker, Woody Hayes. Hayes recruited Vogt to Denison in 1950 when he was head coach at Miami (Ohio) University.
