Granville, Ohio - The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) announced its All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio teams, and five Big Red have been nominated. Henri Heyes and Phil Koutsaftis were named Academic All-Ohio, while Heyes, Zarius Eusebe, and Kameron Kist were named first team All-Ohio, and Kaden Kist was second team.
Henri Heyes (Defender | Sr. | New Albany, Ohio) - Heyes, a senior defender from New Albany, Ohio, has earned first team honors for Academic All-Ohio and All-Ohio team. The NCAC Defensive Player of the Year helped a Big Red defense to a conference-leading 12 shutouts and gave up 14 goals (0.67 opponent goals per game), which also led the conference. Heyes also netted five goals and two game-winning goals to go along with his elite defense. Along with being named All-Ohio, Heyes was dubbed an United Soccer Coaches first team All-Region recipient and fourth team All-American.
Kameron Kist (Midfielder | Sr. | New Albany, Ohio) - The senior New Albany, Ohio native, Kist has been named first team All-Ohio. The NCAC Midfielder of the Year was crucial in Denison's success on the offensive front, as he had a team-leading nine goals and led the conference in shots with 55, and was tied for first in shots on goal with 27 and 24 points. In conference play, Kist scored five goals and dished off two assists for a conference-leading 12 points. Kist was also named United Soccer Coaches first team All-Region and first team All-American.
Zarius Eusebe (Defender | Sr. | Middletown, Conn.) - Eusebe, a senior from Middletown, Conn., is the third Big Red to be named to first team honors. The first team All-NCAC defender was pivotal in the backline for Denison, as they had 16 games where they held their opponents to one goal or less, with 11 of them resulting in shutouts. Eusebe also tallied three goals and one assist, while ranking third on the team in shots with 30, and had nine shots on goal.
Phil Koutsaftis (Midfielder | Sr. | Mamaroneck, N.Y.) - Koutsaftis was the second Big Red player to be named first team Academic All-Ohio. The Mamaroneck, N.Y. native was electric in the offensive front for the Big Red. The senior midfielder was second on the team in goals with five, third in assists with six, and was second in points for 16. Koutsaftis scored the game-winning goal in Denison's NCAA First Round match against Washington and Lee.
Kaden Kist (Defender | So. | New Albany, Ohio) - Kist, a sophomore from New Albany, Ohio, has been named second team All-Ohio. The third defender to be named All-Ohio, Kist and his fellow teammates formed a formidable backline that would have the defense ranked among the best in the conference. Not only was his defense remarkable, but his vision on the offensive end was impressive, leading the team and conference in assists with eight. He also added 19 shots and five on target, proving to be a threat on either end of the pitch.
