Women’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth at NCAC Championships

Gambier, Ohio - The Denison women's cross country team concluded their NCAC Championship afternoon with a sixth place finish in Gambier, Ohio hosted by Kenyon College. The Big Red finished with 158 total points, behind Kenyon who had 145 points. Ohio Wesleyan was crowned champions, totaling 43 points on the day. Fiona Martinelli was the highest finisher for the Big Red, placing 26th.

Martinelli paced the Big Red, finishing first on the team and 26th overall with a time of 23:52.9
Shaylee Murdough, Jane McNamara, and Serafina Lavallee finished out the top-50 for Denison. Murdough finished 32nd with a time of 24:07.1, McNamara 34th with a time of 24:09.0, and Lavalle completed the 6k with a time of 24:55.6 to place 48th.
Brett Rose Castro placed 54th with a personal best of 25:05.4, and Floralysse Biteau placed 57th with a time of 25:22.4.
Rounding out the Big Red was Lexi Verdell, who finished with a time of 25:32.3 and placed 61st.

Up Next for the Big Red

The Big Red will gear up for the NCAA Great Lakes Region Championship in Louisville, Kentucky next week on Saturday, November 15.
