Women’s Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season at Augustana Interregional Invitational

Rock Island, Ill. - The Denison women's cross country team finished in 39th place at the Augustana Interregional Invitational among some of the nation's best. Fiona Martinelli came in first for the Big Red with Shaylee Murdough not trailing far behind.

Fiona Martinelli paced the Big Red finishing 150th with a time of 23:56.7
Shaylee Murdough was the other top 200 finisher, as she came in 182nd with a time of 24:16.8
Other Big Red finishing in the top 300 were Serafina Lavallee, who finished 269th with a time of 25:15.6, and Evie Sparks, who took 288th with a time of 25:30.0.
Rounding out Denison was Lexi Verdell who finished 315th (25:54.6), Brett Rose Castro came in at 318th (25:59.1), and Aly Marshall came in at 329th (26:28.0).

The team also had three runners compete in the Blue Race:

Jane McNamara finished 136th with a time of 26:21.0
Ren Perretta finished 264th with a time of 29:55.5
Ava Burson came in 293rd with a time of 32:00.3

Up next for the Big Red
The women's team will have time to prepare for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Kenyon in Gambier, Ohio, on Saturday, November 1st
