GRANVILLE, Ohio (May 3, 2024) – Denison University currently sits in sixth place after the opening day of the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Friday in Granville, Ohio. The Big Red have accumulated 22.50 points through eight events. The top-five features Wittenberg University (86.50 points), DePauw University (66 points), Ohio Wesleyan University (50 points), Oberlin College (42 points) and the College of Wooster (31.50 points).
Anaya Jolivette won a conference championship with a personal record of 5.28 meters (17-04.00) in the long jump and was first in the prelims of the 100 meter dash (12.14 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (25.03 seconds), both with personal record times as well. It was her first conference title in the long jump and was the third overall conference title of her career for outdoor track & field.
Sophia Ellerkmann was first in the 400 meter dash prelims (56.65 seconds) and was fifth with a personal record in the 200 meter dash prelims (25.34 seconds).
Sydney Flores earned her first-career all-conference honor and finished as the runner-up in the discus with a personal record of 39.85 meters (130-09) while
Mariel Drost (34.83 meters) was seventh also with a personal record and
Kylee Silverman (34.26 meters) was eighth.
