GRANVILLE, Ohio (May 16, 2024) – Denison University women's lacrosse junior defender
Mary Daniel has been named a 2024 Division III Third-Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine.
This season, Daniel made her second-consecutive appearance on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference first-team and earned the 2024 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year award. She has started in 17 of the Big Red's 19 games so far and ranks first on the team in groundballs (35), second in draw controls (79), and sixth in caused turnovers (21).
In six conference games this season, Daniel collected 28 draw controls, 13 groundballs and eight caused turnovers. She caused a season-high five turnovers in a win over Wittenberg (Apr. 6) while also adding seven draws and four groundballs in the victory.
During Denison's two games in the NCAC Tournament, Daniel accumulated six draw controls, four caused turnovers and four groundballs, and was named the NCAC Tournament MVP for her efforts on the defensive side of the field.
