TIFFIN, Ohio (March 30, 2024) – Led by third-place finishes by
Anaya Jolivette in the long jump and
Sophia Ellerkmann in the 200 meter dash, the Denison University women's track & field team competed at the Tiffleberg Open on Saturday, March 30, in its second meet of the outdoor track & field season.
Jolivette was third in the long jump with a personal record of 5.27 meters (17' 3½"), which was also good for the second-best personal record in the event in program history. She was also seventh in the 200 meter dash at 26.18 seconds.
Finishing four spots ahead of Jolivette in the 200 meter dash was Ellerkmann, who was third with a personal record of 25.73 seconds, which was good for the seventh-best personal record in program history.
In addition, both Jolivette and Ellerkmann helped Denison finish fifth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 50.35 seconds and take fourth in the 4x400 meter relay at 4:05.75.
Ava Sinex finished eighth in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.33 seconds while
Sydney Brown was 11th with a new personal record of 17.51 seconds.
Tessa Gerhardt was eighth with a personal record time of 1:02.02 in the 400 meter dash while
Libby Hornick was ninth at 1:02.12.
Lastly in the track events,
Kate Immesberger was eighth in the 5,000 meter run at 21:09.58.
In the field events,
Kylee Silverman was 10th in the hammer at 45.20 meters (148' 3") while
Amy Pollack was 12th at 44.42 meters (145' 9").
Silverman also added a 14th-place finish in the shot put at 11.32 meters (37' 1¾") while in the high jump,
Emily Collins was 14th with a personal record of 1.40 meters (4' 7").
