ALLIANCE, Ohio (March 2, 2024) – Senior
Sophia Ellerkmann and junior
Ari Skolnik represented Denison University track & field on Saturday, competing at the second day of the 2024 Mount Union Final Qualifier.
Ellerkmann entered the weekend ranked 28th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.08 seconds (converted from 57.83) ran at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. Seeking a chance to move up into contention for a spot at nationals, Ellerkmann instead ran a time of 58.01 seconds to finish in second place.
Skolnik, who started the day tied for 19th in NCAA Division III in the 60 meter hurdles with a school record time of 8.12 seconds at the All-Ohio Championships, needed to improve his time to firmly secure his spot in the top-20 for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. In the end, however, Skolnik ran a time of 8.34 seconds to finish third in the prelims and then did not compete in the finals.
Already securing his spot for nationals was senior

The 2023 NCAA Division III men's and women's indoor track and field championship qualifiers will be revealed in an NCAA.com press release on Sunday, March 3. This year's championships will take place March 8-9 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
