Granville, Ohio - The 2025-26 College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District® Women's Track and Field team was released recently, and four Big Red student-athletes were selected. Senior Sydney Flores, junior Ava Sinex, and sophomores Mira Renaldi and Emery Kurth were selected for their hard work inside and out of the classroom.
Sydney Flores - Throws
Flores, a senior thrower from Durango, Colorado, earns her second consecutive Academic All-District nod after having a stellar indoor and outdoor season for the Big Red. In just her senior season, she was a three-time All-NCAC performer, placing second in the shot put in the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a throw of 12.24m, and won the shot put and discus events in the outdoor championships, throwing for 12.96m in shot, and 39.00m in discus to take home the wins. A Biochemistry major, she also recorded a personal-best of 43.69m in the discus, and was an eight-time All-NCAC recipient during her time as a Big Red.
Ava Sinex - Hurdles/Sprints
Sinex, a junior hurdler from Carmel, Indiana, receives her second Academic All-District nomination in her career. A Politics and Public Affairs major, Sinex competed in multiple events ranging from the 400-meter hurdles, 100, and 200, and was on the 4x400 and 4x200 relay teams. She recorded eight top-five finishes, including winning the 4x400 relay at the Denison Big Red Invitational and Lid-Lifter. Sinex also recorded a personal best in the 100-meter dash, clocking in a time of 13.18.
Emery Kurth - Jumps
Kurth, a sophomore jumper from Santa Fe, New Mexico, earns her first Academic All-District nod after a solid sophomore season. A Biology major, Kurth competed in the long jump, high jump, and triple jump, earning three top-five finishes across the indoor and outdoor seasons. She recorded personal bests in the high jump (1.54m), triple jump (10.72m), and long jump (5.50m). Kurth earned All-NCAC honors in the long jump and won the Fighting Scots Invitational in the high jump.
Mira Renaldi - Hurdles
Renaldi, a sophomore hurdler from Plymouth, Michigan, collected her first career Academic All-District award after a breakout sophomore season. A Biology and Psychology double major, Renaldi broke numerous Denison records and currently holds the 100-meter hurdles record with a time of 14.57, a mark that stood for 25 years. She recorded 17 top-three finishes across multiple events and was a two-time All-NCAC performer in the 100-meter hurdles and 4x400 relay. Renaldi was also part of the 4x100 relay team that broke the school record, finishing in 47.47.
The women's track and field team finished fifth at the NCAC Track and Field Indoor Championships and fourth at the outdoor championships.
