GAMBIER, Ohio (February 18, 2024) – Denison University women's track & field competed in three meets this weekend.

KENYON TUNE UP: The Denison throwers competed at the Kenyon Tune Up on the night of Friday, February 16. Kylee Silverman was second in both the weight throw (14.74 meters) and the shot put (10.91 meters). She was followed in the weight throw by Amy Pollack (12.90 meters) in third place with her third-best career mark while Mariel Drost (12.19 meters) was sixth. In the shot put, Sydney Flores (10.30 meters) made her season debut and finished in fourth place while Drost (7.96 meters) was eighth.

WITTENBERG INVITATIONAL: Denison then traveled to Springfield, Ohio, for the second time this season to compete at the 2024 Wittenberg Invitational on Saturday.

• Anaya Jolivette – fifth place in the 200 meter dash – 26.24 seconds
• Emily Collins – tied for seventh place in the high jump – 1.39 meters (4' 6¾")
• Anaya Jolivette – 10th place in the long jump – 4.98 meters (16' 4¼")
• Brooklyn Heller – 10th place in the pole vault – 2.90 meters (9' 6¼")
• Ava Sinex – 10th place in the 60 meter hurdle prelims – 9.85 seconds
• Stefany Sparks – 12th place in the long jump – 4.83 meters (15' 10¼")
• Cara Bodary – 12th place in the one mile run – 5:18.51
• Piper Lee – 13th place in the 200 meter dash – 27.57 seconds
• Ava Sinex – 15th place in the 400 meter dash – 1:02.57
• Libby Hornick – 16th place in the 200 meter dash – 27.71 seconds
• Piper Lee – 17th place in the long jump – 4.57 meters (15' 0")
• Fiona Martinelli – 19th place in the 800 meter run – 2:30.65

NCAC INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS: Denison sophomore Sydney Brown also competed for the Big Red on Sunday as she took part in the pentathlon at the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Combined Events Championships held at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Brown finished ninth out of 11 with 2,189 points. She started things off with a third-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (9.62 seconds), but tied for 10th in the high jump (1.22 meters; 4-00.00), was also 10th in the shot put (6.89 meters; 22-07.25), was fifth in the long jump (4.72 meters; 15-06.00) and was 11th in the 800 meter run (3:12.16).

NEXT UP: Kenyon College will host the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, February 23, and Saturday, February 24.
