BEREA, Ohio (May 13, 2023) – The Denison University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete in the Harrison Dillard Twilight track meet on Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May 12, hosted at Baldwin Wallace University.
The highlight for Denison was a new school record in the women's shot put by
Mikaila Carpenter, who finished sixth in the event with a throw of 13.51 meters (44-04.00) on Friday.
In addition, junior
Sophia Ellerkmann set a new personal record of 57.35 seconds while finishing ninth in the women's 400 meter dash and sophomore
Jack Blais set a new personal best of 6.82 meters (22-04.50) to finish seventh in the men's long jump.
Gabe Springer led the Big Red with a fourth-place finish in the men's discus at 49.73 meters (163-02) while
Rainer Yaeger was sixth in the women's triple jump at 6.82 meters (22-04.50).
