ATLANTA, Ga. (March 25, 2023) – The first meet of the 2023 outdoor track & field season for the Denison University women's track & field team has come and gone as the Big Red finished in seventh place out of 24 teams at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open.
Denison finished with 40 points and trailed Clayton State (48 points) in sixth place with leading Truett-McConnell (38.5) by just a point and a half. Emory earned the win with 167.5 points while Colby was second with 84 points, Montevallo (83) was third, Wellesley (59.5) was fourth and George State (56) was fifth.

Denison's best finish came in the 4x800 meter relay when
Anna Lindower,
Carolyn Trent,
Roberta Fisher and
Audrey Corrigan worked together to finish in second place with a time of 10:40.43.
In the 4x400 meter relay,
Sophia Ellerkmann,
Erin Anderson,
Lillian Wallace-Larkin and
Erin Mayle came in fifth place with a time of 4:08.47.
The Big Red earned a pair of sixth-place finishes from Ellerkmann with a personal record of 1:00.00 in the 400 meter dash and from Anderson with a time of 2:18.01 in the 800 meter run.
Also in the 400,
Anaya Jolivette finished 13th with a time of 1:01.55 while in the 3,000 meter run,
Kate Immesberger was 13th with a time of 12:14.87.
Anna Lindower was ninth in the 1,500 meter run (Open) at 5:02.70 while
Carolyn Trent was 18th with a time of 5:14.72.
Fatima Henderson-Bernard was eighth in the 100 meter dash (Qualifying) at 13.44 seconds while
Brooklyn Heller was 23rd at 14.23 seconds.
In the field events,
Catelyn Gagnier was fourth in the pole vault at 3.15 meters and
Rainer Yaeger was 13th in the triple jump at 10.18 meters.
Kylee Silverman was 12th in the shot put at 11.01 meters and was 23rd in the discus at 29.07 meters while
Amy Pollack was 32nd in the discus with a mark of 25.10 meters.
