ATLANTA, Ga. (March 24, 2023) – The Denison University women's track & field team began its 2023 outdoor campaign by competing during the first day of the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open on Friday. With nine of 22 events scored, the Big Red (14 points) are currently in ninth place out of 17 teams in the scoring column.

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
Denison had four top-15 finishes in the 5,000 meter run, led by a sixth-place finish from
Claire Campanelli (20:37.63) while
Audrey Corrigan (21:07.37) was 11th,
Roberta Fisher (21:19.94) was 12th and
Jessica Coomber (21:38.42) was 15th.
Also on the track,
Anna Lindower was ninth in the 1,500 meter run (Invite) at 5:02.70 while
Carolyn Trent was 17th with a time of 5:14.72; and
Caliyah Bennett was 26th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.78 seconds.
Denison was led in the field events by
Amy Pollack's great second-place finish in the hammer throw with a personal record of 44.45 meters while
Kylee Silverman was eighth at 43.13 meters.
Lastly for the Big Red,
Stefany Sparks added an 11th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.82 meters.
