SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (February 18, 2023) – Denison University women's track & field traveled to Springfield, Ohio, for the second weekend in a row and finished with five top-10 finishes on Saturday at the 2023 Wittenberg Invitational.
Rainer Yaeger led Denison's performances in the field events with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (10.10 meters) and a 12th-place finish in the long jump (4.69 meters). Finishing behind Rainer in the long jump in 15th place was
Stefany Sparks (4.61 meters).
In the weight throw,
Kylee Silverman (14.04 meters) and
Tam Dzolic (13.87 meters) finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively, while in the shot put, Silverman (10.91 meters) was 11th and Dzolic (10.52 meters) was 14th.
In addition,
Brooklyn Heller was 13th in the pole vault (2.36 meters).
On the track, Denison's 4x400 meter relay team made up of
Sophia Ellerkmann,
Erin Anderson,
Erin Mayle and
Lillian Wallace-Larkin finished in third place with at time of 4:17.40.
Wallace-Larkin also finished sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.90 while
Annelise Bentley was 14th at 1:05.66.
Lastly,
Anna Lindower (5:17.44) was 15th in the mile while Ellerkmann was also 15th in the 200 meter dash (27.89 seconds).
