SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (December 3, 2023) – The Denison University women's track & field team opened its 2023-24 indoor season at the Tiger Opener hosted by Wittenberg University.

The Big Red put together a pair of third-place finishes in the field events by Kylee Silverman in the weight throw (14.40 meters) and Catelyn Gagnier in the pole vault (3.20 meters).

Silverman added a seventh-place finish in the shot put (11.20 meters) while on the track, Sydney Brown was seventh in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles (9.73 seconds).

Lastly, Emily Brennan added a pair of top-10 finishes with a seventh-place finish in the 400 meter dash (1:00.72) and a ninth-place mark in the long jump (5.02 meters).

• Kylee Silverman – third place in the weight throw – 14.40 meters (47' 3")
• Catelyn Gagnier – tied for third place in the pole vault – 3.20 meters (10' 6")
• Sydney Brown – sixth place in the 60 meter hurdle prelims – 9.99

• Ava Sinex – ninth place in the 300 meter dash – 44.73
• Rainer Yaeger – 10th place in the triple jump – 9.90 meters (32' 5¾")

 
NEXT UP: Denison will return to action on Saturday, January 13, when it travels to New Concord, Ohio, to compete in the Muskie Meet.
