GRANVILLE, Ohio (April 24, 2022) – The No. 30 Denison University women's tennis team recognized seniors
Susan Biederstedt and
Hannah Bradvica before their match against NCAA Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon, but in the end, the Big Red were swept by a final score of 7-0.
Denison's closest doubles match was a 6-4 loss for
Caroline Lopez and
Monique Brual at No. 1 doubles while the Senior Day tandem of Bradvica and Biederstedt teamed up at No. 2 doubles and fell by a score of 6-3.
In singles, Bradvica fell 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot while Biederstedt lost 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
In the other singles matches,
Sarah Robertson lost 7-5, 6-1 in the top spot, Brual fell 6-3, 6-1 in the two hole, Lopez lost 6-4, 6-0 in the four spot, and
Elizabeth Hoo lost 6-3, 6-2 in the six hole.
Susan Biederstedt is a four-year letter winner from Indianapolis, Indiana. For her career, she is now 8-14 in singles and 11-5 in doubles, including a 10-4 record in doubles this year.
Hannah Bradvica is a four-year letter winner from Riverside, California. She has posted a career record of 24-19 in singles and 22-13 in doubles, including a record of 15-9 in doubles this year.
Denison dropped to 11-7 on the season while IUP, which is ranked No. 56 in the NCAA Division II national rankings and is the top ranked team in the NCAA Atlantic Region, won its 10th match in a row to improve to 15-7 overall.
Next up will be the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, which is set to begin on Friday, April 29, and run through Sunday, May 1, at Keyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Denison's quarterfinal matchup will see the Big Red take on Allegheny College starting at 11 a.m. on Friday.
