SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (February 19, 2022) – Denison University women's track & field finished with 12 top-10 finishes on Saturday afternoon at the 2022 Wittenberg Invitational hosted at the Steemer Fieldhouse, the same location for the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Headlining DU's performance was Denison's 4x200 meter relay team of
Anaya Jolivette,
Caliyah Bennett,
Tessa Gerhardt and
Lillian Wallace-Larkin, who combined to win the event with a time of 1:49.54.
Earning eight of their top-10 finishes in the field events, the Big Red also saw a trio of top-10 marks in both the weight throw and the shot put.
Leah Ackerman,
Kylee Silverman and
Tam Dzolic finished third, eighth and 10th, respectively, in the weight throw while also taking fourth, sixth and eighth in the shot put.
Caliyah Bennett paced Denison's individual performances on the track as she finished in third place in the 60 meter hurdle finals with a time of 9.40 seconds.
In addition to Ackderman's performance in the shot put, Denison also earned fourth-place finishes from
Anaya Jolivette (26.48 seconds) in the 200 meter dash,
Rainer Yaeger (10.04 meters) in the triple jump, and
Catelyn Gagnier (3.19 meters) in the pole vault.
