GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison women's track & field collected eight event titles on Friday night as they competed in the Denison Quad Meet hosted at Piper Stadium in Granville.
- Earning four of their individual victories on the track, the Big Red were led by freshman Monica Bradford who took first overall in the 100-meter hurdles after clocking in with the third-fastest personal record in school history at 15.20. Senior Sarah Radziewicz also checked in with a new PR as she won the 3,000-meter run in 10:43.16, the fourth-best PR in Denison history. Sophomore Erin Anderson garnered a pair of wins for DU, first taking gold in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.84. She then joined Ava Batsel, Tessa Gerhardt, and Julie Kenyon in the 4X400-meter relay where they took first overall with a final time of 4:30.64.
- Gerhardt, Kenyon, and Anderson also joined Rainer Yaeger in the 4X100-meter relay and took second overall at 53.89. In the 1,500-meter run, Emily Willson led the Big Red in third place with a final time of 5:13.19.
- In the field events, Denison earned four gold medals, with the first coming from junior Ashley Schmoll in the javelin where she checked in with a maximum launch of 107'7" (32.80 meters), the fourth-best personal record in program history. She also took second overall in the discus throw, reaching a final distance of 120' (36.59 meters).
- Continuing DU's success in the throwing events, freshman Kylee Silverman placed first overall in the hammer throw after checking in at 152'4" (46.43 meters) with Leah Ackerman to follow in third place (143'5"). Ackerman then won the shot put event with a final mark of 38'8.25" (11.79 meters) and Mikaila Carpenter followed in second place (38'7.75").
- In the triple jump, Yaeger took first overall after recording a maximum leap of 34'6.75" (10.53 meters), the third-best personal record in school history. In the pole vault, Danielle Wydick matched her personal record from a week ago when she checked in at 10'6" (3.20 meters) and placed third overall.
Denison will return to Piper Stadium next Sunday, May 9 when the Big Red host the 2021 NCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Granville. Competition will begin at 1 p.m. and the Denison Sports Network will provide a
live video broadcast of the events within the stadium.
