DELAWARE, Ohio – Denison women's track & field earned four individual event titles on Thursday evening as they placed second overall at the Ohio Wesleyan Twilight Meet held at OWU's Selby Stadium in Delaware. Finishing the day with 42 team points, the Big Red outpaced Wooster's 30 points in third place and Wittenberg in fourth place with 28 points. Meet-host Ohio Wesleyan won the team title with 75 total points.
- In the field events, the Big Red earned a top-three finish in all four of the throwing events on the day. In the hammer throw, freshman Kylee Silverman won the event with a maximum toss of 151'7" (46.21 meters) while Leah Ackerman followed in second place with a new personal-best throw of 150'2" (45.77 meters) and Anna Vrancken took third at 137' (41.75 meters). Ackerman also took third overall in the shot put, leading Denison with a final mark of 35'5.75" (10.81 meters), and Mikaila Carpenter followed in fourth place at 35'3.75" (10.76 meters). In the javelin throw, junior Marija Pavlick captured the gold after winning the event at 122'1" (37.21 meters). Fellow junior Ashley Schmoll landed in third with a launch of 103'7" (31.23 meters) before winning the discus event at 119'11" (36.56 meters). Carpenter followed in second place in the discus, checking in at 111' (33.83 meters).
- In the high jump, Danni Gutelius took fifth overall on a final leap of 4'10.25" (1.48 meters).
- On the track, senior Sarah Radziewicz led the Big Red with a win in the 5,000-meter run after crossing the finish line in 18:10.02, the sixth-fastest PR in program history. Emily Willson followed in third at 18:38.46. In the mile, Tommy Solberg highlighted Denison's efforts with a third-place finish on a final time of 5:33.34 while Aileen Schretzmayer followed in fourth (5:44.24) and Cara Bodary landed in fifth (5:48.66).
- In the 100-meter hurdles, Schmoll took second overall after clocking in at 17.12, and in the 400-meter run, Ava Batsel placed fourth overall at 1:04.63.
Denison will return to action next Friday, April 23 when they travel to Meadville, Pa. for Allegheny College's Marty Goldberg Invitational.
