GAMBIER, Ohio – Second-half goals from Max Ohnesorge and Sebastian Gaese allowed No. 9 Kenyon College to post a 3-1 victory over Denison on Saturday afternoon at Mavec Field in Gambier.

Outshooting the Big Red 11-3 in the first half, the Lords took control in the opening minutes with a 3-1 shot advantage through the first nine minutes of action. At 8:31, Kenyon turned a DU foul into a penalty kick opportunity from KC's Scott Upton, but Denison's Dylan Brown came up with the save to keep the match scoreless through the first nine minutes of play.

Despite a pair of early saves from Brown, the Lords broke the scoreless tie in the 21st minute when Sam Hosmer-Quint accepted a corner kick from Gunner Found and headed it in the net for the first goal of the match. The Big Red's Lorenz Hoover attempted one more shot for DU during the first half but was unable to connect as the score remained 1-0 at the break.

Trailing 1-0 entering the second half, the Big Red forced a corner kick at 49:06 to set up a potential play in the KC defensive third. Less than forty seconds later, sophomore Leo Herard sent a cross into the net for his second goal of the season and to tie the match at 1-1.

Following the game-tying goal, Brown answered big for Denison with three-straight saves from 67:48 to 69:11 while Luis Zamora tallied a shot on goal in the 71st minute. After a pair of fouls followed for Denison, the Lords added their third goal of the match off the foot of Gaese to put Kenyon ahead by two, 3-1. DU's Zamora and Pierre de la Croix-Vaubois attempted a pair of last-minute shots, but the Big Red was unable to capitalize as Denison dropped to 4-6-1 overall and 1-2 in NCAC play. The Lords improved to 11-1 on the year and 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Herard, Zamora, and Hoover led the Big Red with two shots each while Vitor Rocha, Andrew Goldsholle and de la Croix-Vaubois tallied one shot apiece.
