KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Denison men's tennis team closed out their 2016 fall season at the 2016 ITA Central Region Championship held at Kalamazoo College.

Sophomore Kevin Brown led the Big Red, going 2-1 and reaching the round of 32. Brown opened the event with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Adrian's Brandon Brom. He stamped his ticket to the third round with a straight-set (6-3, 6-1) victory over Matt Steiner of Wheaton (Ill.). The sophomore's run came to an end after dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision to eventual quarterfinalist Charlie Pei of Chicago.

In doubles action, all three Denison teams picked up opening round wins. The duo of junior Jamie McDonald and Brown cruised to an 8-1 first-round victory over Augustana's Scott Daluga and Nicholas Prabhakar.
