Granville, Ohio - The Denison University men's and women's tennis programs earned All-Academic Team honors and a total of 12 scholar-athletes were recognized as Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in Division III.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
A total of 12 members, eight on the men's team and four on the women's team, were recognized as scholar-athletes. For the men, graduated seniors
Colin Gramley,
Tomer Ozmo, and
Archie Turner; rising seniors
Andreas Chapides,
Ethan Green,
Anthony Payiavlas,
Kael Shah; and rising sophomore
Nick Meyers were all awarded for academic excellence. For the women, graduated senior
Elizabeth Hoo, and rising sophomores
Charlotte Johns,
Hayley Shay and Caitlin Van Winkle were all honored as scholar-athletes.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
For the men's team, they capped off their season winning their first NCAA Division III National Championship, finishing the season going 28-2 and going 7-0 in NCAC play and winning their fifth-straight conference championship.
For the women's team, they finished the season going 16-7 while going 5-1 in conference play and finishing second in the NCAC.
