The Big Red men's tennis team capped off their spring break trip with a dominating 9-0 victory over the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez on Wednesday in Puerto Rico.
Denison opened the match with a sweep in doubles play. The top-flight duo of Kevin Brown and Jackson O'Gorman-Bean picked up a dominating 8-1 victory, while Blake Burstein and Jamie McDonald were 8-5 winners at second doubles. Jack O'Koniewski and Owen Smith capped off the sweep with an 8-3 decision at third.
The Big Red won all six singles flights in straight sets. Sophomore Costas Alevizopoulos shut out Juan Rodriguez at fifth singles (6-0, 6-0), while McDonald (No. 1), Smith (No. 2), Burstein (No. 4) and John Armstrong (No. 6) also shut out their respective opponents in one set.
Denison (5-4) returns to action on Tuesday (March 22) when they host Ohio Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m.
