The 28th ranked Denison women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to 12th ranked Chicago on Friday night in Westlake, Ohio.
The Big Red's two points came at No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles. In singles play, Rochell Issa rallied from a 6-0 loss in the first set to defeat Tiffany Chen, 7-5, 7-5 to earn the point.
In doubles action, senior Heather Abzug and sophomore Emily Holloway defeated Jasmine Lee and Kelsey McGillis, 8-6.
Chicago improves to 1-1 while Denison drops to 1-1. This was also a match-up of two of the top teams in the central region. Chicago entered the match ranked third in the region, while Denison checked in seventh. The Big Red will return to action on March 7 when they travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on the Hornets.
