The Big Red men's tennis team completed the fall portion of their schedule at the ITA Central Regional hosted by Washington University-St. Louis on Sept. 25-28.
Sophomore Jack O'Koniewski and freshman Kevin Brown highlighted the weekend after collecting four singles wins each and reaching the semifinals of the consolation bracket. After suffering a straight-set decisions in the opening round of competition, both athletes rattled off four-consecutive victories to reach the consolation semifinals.
In the doubles draw, the team of Brown and senior Jackson O'Gorman-Bean opened play with three-straight wins to earn a spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament. In the fourth round, the fifth-seeded Denison team suffered an 8-5 decision to the top-seeded team of CJ Krimbill and Louis Stuerke from Case Western. In the consolation bracket, O'Koniewski and Blake Burstein reached the semifinal round.
The Big Red is scheduled to return to action on Feb. 6 when they travel to Holland, Mich. for a match against Hope College.
