Box Score Denison improved to 3-1-1 on Wednesday night following a 4-0 victory over the Earlham Quakers in Richmond, Ind. The Big Red got on the board in the 31st minute when Jamie Wagner scored an unassisted goal, putting DU on top, 1-0. That goal would stand until the 71st minute and that's when the floodgates opened.
Jamie's older brother, Preston Wagner, made the match 2-0 in favor of the Big Red with his second goal of the season. Five minutes later, Ben Peek and Kory Silberg would form and assist-to-goal combination that would strike twice within a span of just 13 seconds. With just under 15 minutes to play DU found themselves out in front 4-0 and in complete control.
DU outshot Earlham 16-11 and starting goalkeeper, Matt Wagner, posted four saves in 80 minutes of action.
The Big Red will open North Coast Athletic Conference play this Saturday (Sept. 17) when they host DePauw at 3 p.m. The Denison Sports Network will provide a live video broadcast of the event from Barclay-Thomsen Field.
