The fifth-ranked Denison women's tennis team began their annual spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with a convincing 8-1 victory over Rhodes College on Monday.

Denison rolled past the Linx in doubles play behind 8-2 wins by Jane Lent and Alex Marcell at second doubles and Erin Chadwell and Kristin Cobb at first doubles.

In singles play, flights two through six all earned victories.  At third singles, Sarah Short pulled off a three-set win over Maggie Donoghue, 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 11-9.  At fourth singles, Kelsey Geppner improved to 5-0 in dual meets with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.

DU will return to action on Tuesday at 4 p.m. when they take on the nation's third-ranked team, Emory University.
