Box Score Tyler Wall scored two goals and assisted on a third as the No. 4 ranked Ohio Wesleyan men's soccer team blanked the Denison Big Red, 3-0 from Roy Rike Field in Delaware, Ohio.
The two conference rivals remained locked in a scoreless match until the 51st minute when Wall broke the tie off a double assist from Paolo Bucci and Tyler Bryant. Eight minutes later, Bryant would strike off a feed from Wall, putting the Bishops up 2-0. The scoring would be closed out with Wall's 10th goal of the season and his second of the contest in the 86th minute of play.
Denison took seven shots on the night and was led by Preston Wagner (Toronto, Ontario/TASIS American School) and Lenny Mills (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) who took two shots apiece. Matt Wagner (Nicholasville, Ky./Lexington Catholic) notched four saves in goal for the Big Red while OWU keeper Paul Hendricks finished with two saves. OWU outshot Denison 14-7 while maintaining a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The loss dips Denison's record to 8-7 overall and 3-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. OWU improves to 12-1-2 overall and 5-0-1 in the NCAC. DU will close out their regular season next week with two critical conference matches against Kenyon on Oct. 26 and at Hiram on Oct. 30.
