Denison Finishes Eighth at NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

Springfield, Ohio - On the second day of the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Denison men's track and field team finished eighth out at Wittenberg University. The Big Red captured eight points in the 4x200 to highlight the day, while others grabbed key points.

The 4x200 quartet of Jake McCann, Caleb Zell- Ratner, Pierce Patterson, and Jack Meyerowitz finished third with a time of 1:27.94, which bested last year's final time by almost two seconds and beat the previous NCAC record set in 2013. The group set a personal-best, school record, and gained six points. In the triple jump, sophomore Eric Ott finished seventh with a personal-best jump of 13.14m to gain two points. Justin King earned two points of his own in the weight throw with a mark of 13.60m.

Other Big Red who performed well but did not gather points were Will Jackson (11th; 8:51.88) and Oliver DiCerbo (14th; 9:02.92) in the 3,000-meter. King also produced a personal-best in the weight throw with a mark of 13.60m.

Up Next for the Big Red

Denison will head to Ada, Ohio for a Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University on March 6-7.
