Nine Athletes Earn USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region Honors

New Orleans, La. - The 2026 USTFCCCA All-Region honors were recently released for the outdoor track and field season, and nine Denison men's and women's track and field student-athletes earned honors for their efforts during the 2026 outdoor season. Congratulations to Emily Brennan, Arialyn Bischak, Stevie Combs, Sydney Flores, Shaylee Murdough, Mira Renaldi, and Ryan Singer of the women's team, and congratulations to Oliver DiCerbo and Justin Tharayil of the men's.

Women

Senior Emily Brennan earned All-Region honors for her performance in the 400-meter hurdles, 4x4 and 4x1 relays. In the 400-meter hurdles, she posted a season-best of 1:01.19 at the Midwest Twilight Qualifier, and won the event at the NCAC Championships, and was named a second team All-American after a 14th place finish at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

Senior thrower Sydney Flores was named to the All-Region team for her performance in the discus. Flores had six top-three marks along with winning the Big Red Invitational and NCAC Outdoor Championships title. In her All-NCAC performance, she threw for a mark of 39.00m to claim the title. At the Big Red Invitational, Flores threw for a personal-best mark of 43.69m to secure another win.

Sophomore Mira Renaldi was named All-Region for her 100m hurdles and 4x1 performances. In the 100-meter hurdles, she posted two top-three finishes, including an All-NCAC performance at the outdoor championships, where she finished third in a time of 14.57. In her final meet, she capped off a personal-best at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier with a time of 14.53.

The 4x400 team of Brennan, Arialyn Bischak, Stevie Combs, and Shaylee Murdough all earned all-region nods for their efforts. The foursome had three top-three finishes, and placed second at the NCAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 4:00.11. The team placed first at the Fast Break Invitational with a time of 3:57.10 as well as a first place finish at the Denison Lid-Lifter with a time of 4:08.78.

The 4x100 relay squad of Brennan, Combs, Mira Renaldi, and Ryan Singer notched all-region honors. Across the season, the quartet had five top-five finishes, three of them being second place times, with a season best coming at the Big Red Invitational at 47.47. At the NCAC Outdoor Championships, the squad finished fourth with a time of 47.96.

Men

Oliver DiCerbo earns all-region honors in the steeplechase to round out his Big Red career. The senior won the event at the Duane Gomez invitational with a time of 9:48.63, and finished fourth at the NCAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 9:27.86.

Justin Tharayil secures all-region honors after a top-five performance in the decathlon. The senior posted a score of 5,678 at the NCAC Outdoor Combined Events Championships for a fifth-place finish. Tharayil posted second place marks in the shot put (11.67m) and long jump (6.19m), as well as a top-three placing in high jump (1.79m).
