Smith Earns North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week Honors

Cleveland, Ohio - Junior Kellon Smith (Cleveland, Ohio / Shaker Heights) of the Denison men's basketball team has earned NCAC Athlete of the Week honors after impressive performances against two NCAC foes.

On New Year's Eve, Denison would travel to Delaware, Ohio for an in-conference matchup against Ohio Wesleyan, and picked up a 65-60 win for their second conference win of the season. Smith would tally 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the victory. In their next game against Kenyon, Smith would lead the Big Red on a second-half surge to beat the Owls 75-62 behind another 16 points on 72.7% shooting. In total over the week, Smith totaled 32 points (16 PPG) on 66.7% shooting, seven rebounds, and three steals. It is his first NCAC Athlete of the Week honor in his Big Red career.

The Big Red look to keep their unbeaten conference record alive when they travel to Crawfordsville, Indiana to take on Wabash College on Wednesday, January 7 at 7 pm.
