Granville, Ohio - Sophomore Owen Giannoulias of the Denison men's basketball team has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, to acknowledge the top student-athletes in the nation for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

A sophomore Health, Exercise, and Sports Science major from Northbrook, Illinois, Giannoulias broke out onto the stage as a sophomore, playing in 27 games while starting in 14. He averaged 7.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and three assists per game. He led the team in total assists with 81, and averaged one steal per game as well. Giannoulias was named to the NCAC All-Tournament Team, and was NCAC Athlete of the Week February 24th after clinching the Regular Season Championship against Ohio Wesleyan. 

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games and starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
