Steinbach and Smith Named to NABC Honors Court List; Denison Men’s Basketball Earns Team Academic Excellence Award

Kansas City, Mo.- The National Association of Basketball Coaches recently announced the recipients of the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court and Team Academic Excellence Awards, showcasing achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball programs.

Denison men's basketball rising seniors Kellon Smith (Cleveland, Ohio / Shaker Heights)and Jack Steinbach (St. Louis, Mo./ Ladue) earned spots on this year's Honors Court; they were two of the 2,300 players named to this year's list.

The Big Red program was also honored as a 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Award recipient, joining Wittenberg and Wabash as representatives of the NCAC. In total over 400 programs across all three divisions earned this award.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
